krakarak
krak - male - common raven - 4 yrs old - GROUP - RANK
i wanna know the real you
personality
Krak is one of the most arrogant and haughty birds in existence. He likes to be told that he's pretty and will emphasize to you the fact that he is the smartest and prettiest raven out there. Along with this fact he likes to think he is the most knowledgeable creature out there and has no problem with sharing his vast amount of information... for a price of course. What sort of price? Perhaps just a shiny item like a bottle cap, a piece of aluminum, maybe a ring that a human has dropped. Shiny items are his weakness and he'll do anything or tell you anything for a shiny thing although if you can't afford his information with a shiny item then flattery and maybe giving him lunch will work if you play your cards right.
How does Krak learn so much about his world? Well, for starters flying helps to get him around and he knows how to listen when others are speaking (even when the others don't know that he's listening). Spying isn't above Krak and he'll do it for others for good payment. He is also rather intelligent, even for a raven and knows how to form connections about others... However, he is what you would call impatient. He hates waiting on things and if someone insults him or (God-forbid) call him a "crow" then he can go into a horrible rage. Cawing and croaking so loudly that he'll strike fear (or more often annoyance) into the hearts of others though the right amount of praise and compliments will usually bring him back. Was it aforementioned that he's conceited? Well, he is and his vanity could be one of his biggest flaws since he can be enticed to do almost anything with the right amount of words. However, it can be hard to want to flatter him when he can come off as rude and short-tempered. He is also loud and can be a bit domineering.

don't cry BECAUSE love is here
summary/past
Krak's family lived in the Disappearing Forest where both of his parents met and decided to become mates. They built a nest together and decided to raise a family of ravens. After the eggs were hatched they named the three little chicks as all raven parents did, after the first sounds that came out of their mouths. The oldest of the raven-chicks was big brother Wekah, the second oldest was the sister Mrakak, and the youngest was the male Krakarak. Even though he was the last hatched he was always the most vocal and ready to talk and poke his beak into his parent's business. Nosiness was always a very prominent trait in him.
When the chicks reached the age where they began to learn how to fly Krakarak was always trumped in skill by his older brother. Soon a jealousy began to form between he and his brother so to help with this he began to listen even more intensely in on his parent's conversations as well as the conversations of the other residents in the forest. It was something he enjoyed intensely and it helped to cultivate his knowledge of the world.
After the chicks grew to their full size they left the nest and went to start their own lives. Wekah and Mrakak moved far away immediately but Krakarak stayed in the neighborhood. He found it fun to give out his knowledge to those they wanted to know it though soon he became conceited because many began to come asking for information. He began charging prices for his information; a copper wire here, a bottlecap there. Soon his nest began to get too crowded for his liking, besides, his parents began snooping into his business.
He left his forest home and moved to a better location, the abandoned store. It served his purpose quite well and there he still kept up his habit of being nosey and hoarding items.

roleplay example
A pity it was so cold outside, a bird was not built for such weather. Perhaps he should adopt the migrating patterns of other lesser avians... Nah. He was not the type to follow what someone else was doing! He was intelligent! He was brave! He was beautiful! He was Krakarak the most raven-ish raven in the whole world!
Now the black bird sat in the rafters within his nest that was nestled against a wall, his dark and beady eyes stared down discontentedly at the creatures below. He could see the horses as they pawed their hooves and swished their tails in the stalls, a human walked around giving food to the equines; oats was what it appeared to be. Hmmm... He liked oats, they were quite delicious. Perhaps after the humans left he could help himself to some of the food, the horses wouldn't mind sharing.
While he waited for the human to leave the bird picked up a small diamond ring that he had in his nest. The ring had belonged to a human but after it had been accidentally dropped at the park Krak helped himself to it. Now it was his ring. His ring to admire and decorate his nest with, it was only fair.
The raven looked up from staring at the ring to see that the human had left, the horses were busy eating. His sharp eyes scanned the ground below to see if anything had been dropped. Of course some oats had fallen onto the ground, more than enough to feed the bird and apparently enough to feed some rodents. Some mice decided to come out of hiding and help themselves to the oats. Well, that wouldn't do at all!
Krakarak puffed up his feathers and glided swiftly down to the ground, he landed right in the midst of the rodents and crowed raucously, "CAW CAW CAW!" His swift landing and loud call had the desired effect, the mice scattered and he was allowed to help himself to the oats.
