cleopatra
cleopatra - female - african lion - 3 years - Phantom Pride - Lead Huntress/Queen
i wanna know the real you
personality
When you first meet this girl you'll probably find that she seems a bit cold. She doesn't take kindly to random people coming up to try and be "friendly" and more often than not if you're trying to be overly peppy you'll be met with curt words, a snarl, or both. To her when someone new is trying to be friendly it's just because they want something in return so it's best not to get attached.
When she stoops down and allows herself to be helped by another then she'll grudgingly be cordial to them only because she does know the rules of true respect and showing appreciation. Still, she doesn't like to accept help and will only do so if there's no other way around it. On the flip side she isn't a total heartless lioness despite what air she might try to put on. Cleo hates to see others in pain or in need of help and will go out of her way to help even the smallest and weakest of animals, she has an especially weak spot for children. When called out upon these actions she'll either think of some grand retort or shrug it off, depending on your relationship with her.
It's not impossible to get on Cleopatra's good side, it just takes a little work and showing that you mean her no harm. Caring trust is a key thing here and once you've earned her trust and loyalty then you have an friend for life.

don't cry BECAUSE love is here
summary/past
Cleopatra's pride was located deep in Disappearing Forest. They were ruled by a tyrannical queen named Malkia who just happened to be the mother of Cleo, her firstborn daughter. As such Malkia wanted Cleopatra to be the next ruler of the pride but it was obvious from a young age that she was different in every way from her mother. Cleo was more keen on helping others for altruistic reasons rather than for personal gain and she preferred the motherly approach over leading by fear. Needless to say Malkia was disappointed. Her beautiful firstborn was not fit to rule in her way...
Malkia tried to train Cleopatra to be a ruler like her but it didn't work the way she wanted. Cleopatra resisted her ways and instead of truly turning her daughter the evil lioness queen simply made her daughter develop a heard outer shell and hatred for her birth pride. The only lion that she could talk to and vent to was her cousin Tou. He always listened to her and tried to offer her advice though his time with the pride was limited since he was a male. It wouldn't be long before the king chased him away.
After Cleopatra reached 3 years of age her mother believed that she had been trained properly to be queen but what Malkia didn't know was that her daughter had a plan. One that would change her fate forever... The day that Tou was chased out Cleopatra went after him when night fell and she never looked back. For days she looked for her cousin but she never found him. Now she continues to search in hopes that she can be reunited with her best friend.

roleplay example
Ever since the female had sensed the storm coming she'd decided it was high time to leave the city. Since she ran away from her family she'd gone into the city to get as far from them as possible but her safety was far more important. Besides, the outskirts were far enough from the wilds where her birth pride resided and it was sufficiently far from the ocean so it was safe or at least it should be.
The lioness' paws fell on the ground rhythmically as she tread across the dusty terrain. Her golden eyes took in the strange scenery, there were many old human dwellings. They looked like they could give good shelter so she noted their positions in her mind for night would eventually come when she would need to sleep. Now she stopped and scanned her surroundings better for a new scent had just came to her nostrils. To better taste the new smell she opened her mouth and grimaced in the classic flehmen response. This enhanced the smell and she could immediately tell that the scent was not only of her kind but a male, a young one that was around her age.
Cleopatra's curiosity peaked and she took a hesitant step forward but stopped. It had been a while since she's seen another lion and this new scent offered a reprieve from the viciousness of her birth pride but weren't most outsiders mean? Her indecision lasted a moment longer before she gave her head a shake and followed the scent forward. She didn't have to follow long before she found the male. He was a sight to behold with a large, wavy, magnificent mane and the strangest but most beautiful white fur she'd ever seen. A lion with white fur? She'd heard of such things but never seen it for herself. She found herself not only entranced by his large mane but the fur as well, it was glorious!
For a moment she didn't say anything but finally she spoke out as she stepped around to a better position for she was behind the male and slightly behind one of the large trees. "Ho, stranger! Is this your land or are you passing through? I smelled no scent markers is why I'm asking." This was true for the land was so newly claimed or not claimed at all yet so the lioness had smelled none of the male's warning signs.
