The walk back to Downtown Vilas was an easy one because once off the beach Shetani was more than suited to take on the world. Her paws were sure and her nose and ears worked to tell her everything that her eyes could not. Of course there was always the stationary cars to contend with but the change in air patterns around the vehicles were sensed by the hairs around her ears, nose, and whiskers. While leading the matriarch didn't talk much but this was because of not wanting to do so and not because it would make it harder for her to navigate.
Finally after the trek the she-hyena paused and lifted her ears sharply. They twitched back and forth before she lifted her nose into the air and sniffed. "The herd is this way," She jerked her head towards a split in between two buildings. "Come on and follow my lead. When I start sneaking you do the same. Got it, wolfie?" With that she trotted towards the break in the buildings as she followed her nose and ears to the herd.
The hyena only stopped when the scent became quite strong. She crouched behind a car and listened to the tearing of grass as the deer herd --she could tell by scent that it was a herd of red deer-- grazed the overgrown flora. Shetani could hardly stop her mouth from drooling as she smelled the delicious prey. "How about we take us a nice buck? We'd both eat like royalty!" Normally when alone she'd go for something smaller but with a healthy wolf with her a buck shouldn't be any trouble. "Take a quick peep at that herd and find a good specimen, when you do I'll tell you the hunting plan." When alone she could just rush in and grab the deer that she wanted but working with someone else made that impossible. She couldn't see the one that she wanted only smell and hear them and explaining a scent or sound to someone that could see wasn't simple so why not let Slice choose who'd they grab?
Shetani waited a little while for Slice to pick a deer before speaking again, "Alright, the deer you picked I want you to rush the herd and bite that deer. You can rush out again or do whatever you want, just make sure you make it bleed! That's how I'll know which one to attack. Now, I'm gonna sneak over to another car to hide and when I smell the blood-mark you make I'll come out and attack the buck. If he wants to run be prepared to run and we'll worry him 'till he's tired, if he wants t'fight then be prepared to fight! Let's do this..." Shetani's body shook in a silent laugh as she felt her adrenaline rise. Oh, she was so ready for this! She stepped away from the wolf and snuck forward to hide behind another car further alongside the herd, her tail perked over her back to show she was ready.

(Lol I hear ya I been extreamly tired as well so I hear ya babe)
Slice had followed her off of the beach and into the wild city that he had came across a couple times. He had perfered the beach and soft grass then the brutal black top of the city roads.
As they walked past this car and that car he nodded he's head to her as she had said if she got low for him to get low.
He's tail wagged slightly as he was excited to get a deer. It would feed them for at least w eek or a month with the meet from it's flesh and he had got low as he could when they came across the heard that she had smelled.
"Ok sounds like a plan"He said to her in a whisper as he had moved around the car to take a peak at the heard and had picked out a nice buck to run down he was large and big and he figured this buck would put up a fight.
He rarely attacked bucks because of the fact that alone a buck could easily kill him,but since he had Shetani to help him bring down a buck he hoped it would be easer then before and excape a horrable wound.
"Ok I can do that...I'll make sure to go for it's legs or neck as I go...I don't want it getting away trust me.I am starving still and eating like royals don't sound like a bad idea at all"He said as he licked at he's fangs slightly licking he's lips of the thought of tearing into the hide of the deer he had picked out.
"Ok you ready?"He asked her softly as he was ready to head out for the deer.
(sorry it is not as long as yours, but I tried.)

Shetani nodded her head at the male and said, "Born ready, baby!" She crouched close to the ground and slunk across to another car farther ahead of the herd that should have been right in their bolt-path. Before she heard it she smelled the scent of rain coming then the sky exploded with the sound of thunder and the drumming of rain started to hammer the ground. The hyena's ears twitched at the new sounds but she didn't let herself get distracted by such things, not when there was food to be had. Still she noted how quickly the rain had come in, usually she had a few hours notice when rain was coming due to her senses but this had started in an instant. That was probably a bad sign...
She looked in Slice's general direction as her tail curled up over her back in anticipation. The female wanted this hunt to be over so that she could feast on something warm to help contrast with the cooling water running through her short pelt. Already she was getting soaked through and a wet hyena was not a happy hyena... Hopefully the hunt would go well and she'd get a good meal.

Slice couldn't help, but laugh to himself as the sky had opened up and begain to pour down a river down onto he's body the deer and the hyena behind him.
~Figures!~He said to himself in he's head why was hunting such a damn bad luck thing for him was him living not enough to whoever created him that the being had to make finding good food hard as hell for him.He shook he's head in the rain as it had blinding him a bit as how ahrd and fast it had came down.
It didn't stop him though he was detremined to bring a buck down and if not a buck then at least one of those damn deer would please him. As the deer begain to scruffy because of the weather he begain to use the rain to he's advantage to move closer to the buck he wanted and within seconds he got close enough to lash out at it's leg digging he's fangs deep within, but the buck had others plans then to run away as well.
When the buck was bit he had slammed down he's antlers down onto Slice's body at such a speed that could injure him and black him out.
Slice however kept he's hold and thrashed he's head angerly at the deer as blood had seeped from he's mouth as well as he's wound.
He just hoped that Shentain could tell the differeance because god forbid she attacked the wrong animal out in this bliding weather and then again the heavy rain and now wind would make tracking a scent harder then it needed to be.
He's fur was soaked he's eyes stun because of the rain as well as it's massive power pounding away at he's body and the deer not wanting to die who was pulling he's massive head abck for an other blow.

The hyena waited patiently for the wolf to go out and catch one of the deer. She knew that hunting was a delicate process that needed to be done right the first time or disastrous things could occur, so there would be no rushing and no scathing comments from her... at least not right now, anyway.
The rain was soaking steadily through her short fur and the ruff of fur on her neck was soaked through and heavy. Irritably she shook herself but this was to no avail as the rain still fell as heavily as before. She wondered if the wolf would be fine with dragging the kill back to her home? It would be drier and much better to wait out than storm than to just sit and eat where they currently were.
Shetani's ears perked as she heard the sound of paws slapping the wet ground and the sound of hooves thudding on the earth. Slice had begun his attack! The she-hyena's nose raised as she inhaled deeply, scenting for the smell that would signal Slice's choice. She didn't have to wait long as the metallic tang of the deer's blood hit her nose, along with that came the sharper scent of what she guessed was Slice's blood. The deer must have "marked" him as well. Ah well, looked like she would have to come to the rescue!
With a snarl that came from the bellows of her soul she darted over the car and rushed straight towards the deer and wolf. Her jowls were slavering as she turned her snarling muzzle in the direction of the deer's blood. However, in her haste and with her ego she forgot to calculate in the fact that rain made scents harder to smell. While she could tell the difference between wolf blood and deer blood she wasn't as keen to the location of said blood. Now as she grew closer to Slice and the deer she realized she couldn't tell where the wolf blood ended and where the deer blood began. She cursed to herself and turned sharply hoping that the direction she'd taken was still towards the deer. If the male had grabbed a back leg or something she should be fine and could grab the deer's foreleg in her own mouth.
Fortunately, whatever gods looked over fate smiled at the pair of hunters that day and Shetani had indeed turned in the right direction. She could hear the whistling of wind through bone as the buck's antlers swung towards her and Slice. Not wanting to be frightened away by a grass-eater she ducked her head and lunged. The deer's antlers whistled over her head and she was able to lunge straight into the animal's chest. Her fangs found the base of the buck's neck and there she held her grip. A hyena's jaws were strong enough to break the bones of a wildebeest but today Shetani's blindness had gotten the best of her. The hyena's jaws closed around the base of the neck and not the throat where the windpipe was located. The blow was still a nasty one though and it was obvious that she wasn't going to let go so easily as the buck let out a pained bellow and tried to rear up on its hind legs so it could box at the hyena with its fore. Shetani ignored the minor blows and attempted to pull the deer to the ground but she was only one hyena and the deer was a large one. She'd need help to knock it off its feet.

Slice was haveing a hard time holding onto he deer. It was strong and kept lashing out at him and it didn't help that he was sleeping in the mud now that used to be grass and stable ground. The rain really wasn't helping and he would of sworn that the water was now an inch up he's paw then before.
He was also glad when Shetani had came over and lashed out at the deer. He had been a bit nervious from before since he had been bleeding to and wasn't sure if she would of hit her mark in the right spot or not,but when she came over he was glad as he had let go for a moment to readjust he's grip to bring this deer down.
"The water is rising fast we have to take him down fast....can you carry the carcuse afterwards?"He asked her as he had backed up slightly sloshying the rain from he's paws everywhere as he had lunged back out at the deer this time targing he's ribcage tearing into he's side savaragely trying to pull the deer down to it's knees or completely down to the ground to finish it off.
The rain wasn't helping any at all yeah sure it was a nice releif to him being hot,but now the rain powding on he's tired body and him slipping in the mud from how fast the rain came in made him worry. Maybe they should get to higher ground afterwards as well.

"Of course, wolfie!" Was what she attempted to say in reply to the wolf's question about her carrying the carcass but since her mouth was full of the deer's throat --which she was extremely reluctant to let go of-- it sounded something like, "Uh cawse, fulpee!" A snarl erupted from her throat as the wolf bucked and boxed at her body but she was stubborn and wouldn't let her quarry go.
The wolf seemed to be hardly helping and she was about to snarl some profanities at him but the deer shuddered at a weight suddenly thrown on it. Seemed like Slice was pulling his own weight after all and the deer was clearly going to lose the battle. The buck's forelegs buckled which was all the indication that she-hyena needed. She loosed her hold on the creature's neck and lunged upwards at its throat, this time at the jugular. Her bone-crushing jaws shattered the creature's windpipe and it was over. The beast crashed to the ground without a further sound.
Shetani's victory whoop was cut short when she too landed on the ground. The water came up to her hocks which meant that it was higher than it should have been... far higher! It was going to be a flood not a simple storm! If she was back at her territory this would hardly had bothered her but now that she was out in the Downtown area it worried her immensely. Hyenas could swim and she was no exception but water drowned out smells, it made it difficult for her to sense things, and with water pounding in her ears while swimming it made it hard to hear. It was like a swirling pool of unknown darkness that she couldn't get past! How the hell was she going to get home if the water kept rising like this?
If she had eyes the uncertainty would be written all over them but as it was it only showed in her crinkled nose and twitching ears. "We need to go. Now!" Her maw lowered and she grabbed the neck of the deer in her mouth where she began to pull it away... but what direction was away? She stopped and sniffed, only to get a faint scent of the surrounding area. The ground underneath her paws was slippery and told a false-tale of the way back home. She was lost... Her head turned to and fro as she searched for the way back but to no avail. It seemed as if she'd have to do something that she hated... "Slice, this damned floodwater is makin' my senses mean nothin'. I have a home at the Amusement Park where we could hide out till the storm's over but I can't smell it or tell what these human-stones feel like under my paws. You see anythin' that looks like amusement park rides in the distance?"

Slice was glad to hear that Shetani could drag the deer to her home so they could feed, but the water was turning into a flood and it was making it very hard to move in the water with the ground under him turning into moosh that he was slipping.
"Amusment park...you forget I'm still new to the city stuff did you"He muttered to her as he looked around the hard blinding rain made anything far away look like it wasn't there, but he sqinted he's eyes to see if he could see anything."Um...I see a weird tall struture that looks like a wheel...is that it?"He had asked Shetani as he was already panting from how tired he as and the rain was making him shiver he was cold, but he be damned if he lost this meal to mother nature.
"Well figures...I always have some kind of bad luck during a hunt so no wonder it's fucking flodding now"He muttered as he blamed it on him unware that it was because of a hurricain something he never had to encounter since he was always in the woods till recently...so that was he's first earthquake and now this was he's first hurricane.
He didn't know why mother nature hated him so much for. First it was a beer trap in the woods when he was hunting a deer that he had been after for days. Then it was a bared wire fence that fell on him when he was jumping over a fence to try to catch a rabit where he meet a maned wolf that looked like a jacked up version of a strealised fox. Who aunted him and watched him bake in the sun now this....a flood that was getting worse by the second.

The she-hyena cursed to herself as one of her paws slipped on the slippery ground and her face, which was lowered so she could hold the deer's neck, fell into the water for a brief moment. Quickly she let go of the carcass and lifted her head, spluttering and sneezing to free herself of the cursed water. "Damnit, wolf! I don't care if you've never been here before the amusement park isn't hard to find! You should be able to see it over everything else, I'm sure it doesn't look the same as these other human-things." Her bad-temper wasn't improved by the fact that the water-level was rising steadily around them and of-course the face full of water didn't help either. Her rising fear was exposing itself as sever ill-temper.
"Um...I see a weird tall structure that looks like a wheel...is that it?" Seemed as if the wolf wasn't completely incompetent at finding things after all. "Yes! That'll be one of the rides at Devil's Den Amusement Park! Lead us there so we can get out of this damn rain!" She hooked her fangs into the deer's shoulders and began to pull in the direction that she heard Slice sloshing in.

Slice sighed slightly at her knowing she must hate the rain by how badly she was acting in it and he wondered if she could swim or not or if she was worried about loseing the meal and that was why she was so mad then again the rain and flood water wasn't making anything better for them at all so he could understad her being snippy.
He didn't like being snapped at ,but he understood so he had turned and lead the way he wonderd if she would call for he's help if she had any problems as he had sloshed through the water it was riasing quickly and it was already up to he's knees on he's legs now as he walked.
"If you want any help with that you let me know.I don't want to leave you hanging in this damn mess"He muttered as he's body acked at how badly he's body was hurting right now due to the pounding rain and at how cold it was making he's body he knew he would have to find a dry spot once they get back so he could recover or he figured he would go into some kind of shock.
"Well...at least I got the damn deer"He added with a slight laugh as he tried to ingore the rain and the flood and he's acking body.

She mumbled an okay to Slice's statement of giving her assistance but with her attitude she wouldn't ask for help until she absolutely needed it. As in, if the water came up too high and she started to panic which she was sure wouldn't happen.
Of course, that was a lie.
The water was rising faster and faster and it was up to her chest, almost forcing her to swim. She didn't care if the water made the carcass easier to haul, it was starting to scare her. She could feel nothing, and she could smell nothing. The only thing that she could hear was the constant splashing of rainwater on top of floodwater and the splish-splosh of Slice in front of her. The she-hyena pinned her ears to her head and flared her nostrils as she fought to control her fear.
It's just water... You're not going to drown.... It's just water... Fear is for weaklings... You are not a weakling... You are strong! You are a queen! You will not panic... you will not let Slice see your fear... On and on she kept her thoughts going like this, all the while the water rose higher and higher until finally her feet could no longer touch ground and she was forced to dog-paddle or drown. Completely out of touch with the ground below, she started to completely panic because truly she felt blind without that tenuous hold onto the flooring.
"SLICE!" She screamed once in sheer terror before going under in her frantic attempt to stay above the blinding water. Get a hold of yourself! Her paws pumped and she pushed her head above the water, which way was up? Which way was down? Everything was so confusing! Where had the carcass gone when she screamed? Damn it all! Queens didn't act this way... Scared little cubs did, she felt so stupid at this moment...

Slice had been in he's own little world, but since Shetani was huffy and puffying being him like she was scared or something he was eger to get out of the water. He was num from head to toe and he was paddling now as he lead the way.
When he heard Shetani go under and then come back up all panicing and stuff and scream he's name he turned around and looked back at her."Hold on I'm coming"He said the water was moving fast they would either have to decided to leave the prey or wait an other day to hunt.
He had grabbed a hold of Shentain's scruff with he's teeth and had pulled her in the right direction before letting go."Just take a glop of my fur and hold on I lead you out...we can hunt an other day it's to dangerious to keep dragining it alone with us...besides it's floating away to fast for me to catch it now anyways"He said as he shivvered against her."We have to get out of this or this cold is going to kill us"He urged her hoping she would relax enough to not hurt him by grabbing a hold of him so he could lead her out to safty.

The she-hyena was barely keeping herself from panicking and going under again, her paws flailed in the water and she struggled to keep her nose above the waves. She was swimming but just barely. When a wave came and lapped over her head she all but lost it. Her head went under and this time she wasn't able to resurface until Slice grabbed her scruff and sent her in the right direction. She paddled and paddled, her face set into a determined expression as she tried to keep herself from going under again. She'd been through hell with her family and she would be damned before she let herself give up and drown underneath some stupid water.
She was irritated at having to leave the prey they had worked so hard to catch but she knew the wolf was talking sense. "You're right, as much as it pains me to admit it... We'll hunt another day but right now I just want to be back in my den. Lead on." So she turned in the direction of his voice and grabbed onto some of his shoulder fur, hard enough to stay latched on but light enough not to hurt.
