personality
Shetani was born in a rough and tough hyena clan that abided by all the natural rules of dominance so her personality shows this. This she-hynea does not believe in any sort of weakness and goes out of her way to show that she is no pushover. This means that anyone that she sees as being weak or otherwise not fit to live she bullies and pushes around just for the hell of it. If they lie down under her treatment then it'll get worse and worse until she gets bored but afterwards they'll get no respect and no sympathy from this blind female ever again.
The only way to impress this girl is to show that you have guts. You don't even have to be able to fight (though if you can it's a definite plus) just show that you aren't a cowering mouse. This is an instant way to get her respect, show your confidence and that you aren't afraid. However, there's a difference between showing confidence and trying to be more dominant than she. The former will earn you her respect while the latter will make her hate you and try to beat you in a fight or kill you to prove that she is not submissive or less dominant.
Shetani doesn't like to take orders from anyone, even those that she respects, and depending on how you tell her to do the orders will decide how she takes the request. If you're tactful about asking and ask as an equal would then she's far more likely to do as you ask than if you try to demand she do something because then she may just tell you to "piss off" or attack you or both depending on her mood.
Despite all of her bad-tempered nature and aggressive dominance Shetani isn't dumb nor is she without morals. This she-hyena can be selfish and only look out for herself most of the time but this is only how she was raised, if she was given the chance to actually care for someone then perhaps she could be selfless. Still, she can be short-tempered especially when someone gets the better of her disability. She values her skills and her ability to fight so when another proves they are a better fighter than her she tends to fly off the handle and become a worse fighter than normal. The same happens when it comes to her intelligence. Shetani likes to think that she is quite intelligent so when someone outsmarts one of her plans that she's thought up to catch "prey" then she tends to get snappy and easier to take advantage of.
As mentioned before Shetani isn't without morals but when someone is paying a decent price to bring in a hostage or have someone killed then she's going to take the payment over the other's life. It's a rough world and she's not going to be killed because her heart got soft, that goes against her nature. Everything is strictly business though she sometimes takes intense joy terrorizing her prey and playing with it before she captures them or goes in for the kill.

Shetani was born in the Vilas Zoo to the lead hyena and her mate, their clan hadn't left the zoo even though the humans had long been gone. As was normal Shetani and her sisters were the two dominant pups of the litter of three while their brother Pendevu was the quiet and submissive one. Even during this young time in their lives Shetani knew that she'd have to prove herself or be forever sat on by her sister so she made sure that during any scuffles they had she was the winner. Before long when they were introduced to the other hyena pups Shetani was winning every single fight that she had with her clan-mates.
When they reached early adulthood Shetani was dominating most of the adults, the only one who still refused to bow down to her was her own mother, Zira. Zira wasn't getting younger and she knew before long her reign as leader would end. Zira wasn't ready to give up though so when Shetani challenged her to a fight for the throne she accepted but when the fight began instead of circling as was normal, she rushed straight in. Straight towards her own daughter's eyes and clawed them. Shetani wasn't expecting such an action and was caught completely off-guard, Zira did an effective job and successfully blinded her daughter which rendered her ineffective in the fight. To be sure of her status Zira exiled the crippled she-hyena, expecting her to die.
Shetani was not one to give up though...
After leaving the zoo she wandered for a while in and out of a daze, eating only trash and sleeping a lot. Her mother and clan haunted her dreams but Shetani refused to give up, she wanted only to live. To prove that she wasn't a weak being that would give up in hardship. One day while wandering she stepped on an old piece of cloth that humans had dropped, her scarred eyes were no longer bleeding and she knew her face was probably a scarred wreck so what better way to cover this than the cloth? That was easier said than done because she lacked thumbs... At a loss she sat beside the cloth, growling in frustration when a baboon rushed by her. The hapless creature had been hoping that the blind hyena wouldn't notice him which had been an error on his part. Shetani quickly grabbed him and threatened him with his life if he didn't put the bandanna on her face which he did with gusto.
Now with her bandanna and resolve to do something with her life she continued to wander the streets of Vilas, looking for a place to call her own so that she could do what had been denied to her in her old clan... Lead. It didn't come as quickly as she liked though and for a while she had nothing to do but terrorize any creature she saw. In this city of Hell though terrorizing creatures may get you noticed...
A cat approached her one day --from the safety of a tree of course-- and gave her a proposition. He needed a dog killed that was terrorizing the females he liked to frequent and in return for the killing the cat would give her a day's share of prey for her to eat. Shetani was perfectly capable of hunting but this would be free food so she took him up on his offer. A day later the dog lay dead in the streets and she had a full belly from the cat's reward, she also had a new job occupation for word got around that a hyena was in the neighborhood that worked as an assassin.
Her job made her infamous and now she heard whispered on the tongues of various animals nicknames that she'd earned, names like "The Blind Assassin", "Spotted Killer", "Death's Assistant", "Hell's Chaperone". Shetani liked this and though she was quite successful now she still had no clan to call her own. However, as she sat and pondered this over one day she got an idea. Why not make a clan for all the creatures that had a lust for killing and reaping the rewards? This clan would not be for the faint-of-heart but the benefits would be glorious! They could be close-knit within the clan just like her old clan had been except where she there had been treachery in her home she would allow for none in her clan.
So, the she-hyena began work to make her own successful clan....
